I’ve hear the word Unwich thrown around the Keto community for a while and didn’t think much of it. It’s a lettuce wrapped sandwich, I can do that at home, it can’t be THAT special.
Jimmy John’s opened up in my town recently and I was wrong, I was sooooo wrong, it is THAT special. I went there yesterday and it’s my Keto take out dream come true.
ALL of their sandwiches can be prepared as unwiches and they offer a large kosher pickle as a side if you don’t want chips. It feels so awesome not getting that weird look when ordering something without the bread (haters gonna hate).
This company is all around awesome, if you go on Jimmy John’s website you can customize your sandwich and find the exact nutritional info in the menu tab.
They do a great job wrapping this thing. Mine was double wrapped, the actual unwich was half wrapped so it would hold together and then the whole thing was wrapped like a normal sub.
Subway has nothing on this sandwich! They didn’t skimp on the meat or filling and it was definitely portable. The lettuce was still crispy and didn’t fall apart or break. I couldn’t even wait long enough to take a picture before getting a big bite out of this baby.
This was one satisfying meal. I went with the #9 Italian Night Club add hot peppers. It was Genoa salami, Italian capicola, smoked ham, and provolone cheese all topped with lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo & a homemade Italian vinaigrette. They also suggest adding hot peppers which I fully endorse, though it is an extra 3g carbs it’s worth it!
The nutrition info per their website for this particular unwich is 609 kcal, 49.3g fat, 29.4g protein, 12.1g carbs (9.1g w/out peppers).
I may or may not be meeting my brother there after work today for dinner and I may or may not have already decided to get the #8 Billy Club…
