Sorry I missed my update last week! Between holidays, changes at work & some various family things it completely slipped my mind. But I’m getting back on track and I should also have both my Keto Subscription service reviews for last month’s boxes up this weekend!
Speaking of my Keto Subscription services I found out yesterday that I won 2 free month’s of Keto Krate thanks to a new social media contest they are running, caught me totally off guard. It has 4 different categories you can be put in, which is how I won 2 months, and they even make a really cool video announcement for it.
I know it’s a little late but I thought I’d give a little update on how I made it through Thanksgiving, the holiday of foooood. With a little preparation it was actually a breeze! My plan was to keep under carbs and just have a little more wiggle room in calories so I could still enjoy myself (& the high calorie dessert I made).
It probably would have been harder if I didn’t have such a supportive family, I’m very grateful for them! Appetizers were pepperoni, cheese & a really good store bought jalapeno sour cream dip. Then for the main meal I enjoyed some green beans and of course turkey (fried turkey, I am in the south after all). To go with that I brought a few things myself b/c I knew to go prepared. I took a bottle of Cavit Pinot Noir to go with my meal, a twice bake cauli casserole & the very calorie dense but low carb Chocolate Pumpkin Sex in a Pan Dessert!
The dessert was a little time intensive but VERY MUCH worth it! Every layer is made from scratch (including the pudding). I indulged and had two pieces.
My biggest victory ended up being the outfit I wore! I’ve had an adorable puppy print dress for a few years but the last time I put it on it felt like I would hulk out and rip the sheer sleeves. This time it was actually a little loose and I wore it comfortably the entire day! That was one of the first times (in a long time) I’ve actually felt comfortable “in my own skin”.
NSV of the week:
I didn’t let a little stress derail me. That’s a BIG victory in my opinion!
Until my next post just remember,
Hydrate. Satiate. Celebrate.
